The dean of Yale University's Divinity School, a New Testament scholar, will give a lecture on Jesus's interaction with women on Friday, Nov. 4, in St. Luke Church.

The presentation by Harold W. Attridge is scheduled for 8 p.m. in the community room of the church, 49 Turkey Hill Road North.

His topic is "Close Encounters: Stories of Jesus' Interaction with Women in the Gospel of John." The lecture is free and open to the public, and will be preceded by a wine-and-cheese reception at 7:30 p.m.

Attridge's research has explored issues in Hellenistic popular philosophy, Judaism in the Hellenistic period, the exegesis of the New Testament and the history and literature of early Christianity.
