Westport Sunrise Rotary will host its weekly breakfast meeting on Friday, Oct. 26, followed by its 23rd annual wine-tasting and silent auction later that evening.

The breakfast meeting, at 7:30 a.m. at Bobby Q's, 42 Main St., will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning political cartoonist Matt Davies as its guest speaker.

Davies, a native of London living in Wilton, is cartoonist for Remapping Debate.org, Hearst Newspaper Group in Connecticut and Newsday.com. His syndicated cartoons have appeared in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and other publications, according to a release.

His awards include a 2004 Pulitzer Prize and the 2001 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, among others.

Guests are welcome. There is a $12 fee for the meeting, which includes a breakfast buffet.

From 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., the club will host "Around the World with 80 Wines" at Christ and Holy Trinity Church's Great Hall, 75 Church Lane.

It will include a selection of wines from various countries and carving stations with roast beef and roast turkey, hors d'oeuvres and tables with cheeses and breads. The event, kicking off the Westport Dowtown Merchant Association's Foodie Fest, will also feature live music by the Bob Lasprogato Trio.

The event's net proceeds will be donated to local and international charities.

Tickets, $60, are available at Fairfield County Bank, 20 Compo Road South; TD Bank, 185 Main St.; or from any Rotary member.
