Summer Sings, where people who love to sing can have an opportunity to sing with others, will begin for the season on Tuesday, Aug. 5. Each Summer Sing session at the Westport Unitarian Church gives singers a chance to sight-read a choral classic, whether a familiar favorite or an unknown work, with like-minded people. Sessions are led by a choral director. There's no preparation, no performance and no pre-registration for the singers; the audience is the chorus. Scores will be available for use.
The Summer Sings are sponsored by Music on the Hill, an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging high-quality music education and performance for all ages.
