Inklingsnews.com, the website of Staples High School's student newspaper, Inklings, has been named a finalist for the 2011 Crown Awards by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
The Crowns recognize outstanding print and online publications at the middle/high school and collegiate levels. From a field of more than 1,400 newspapers, magazines, yearbooks and online newspapers, inklingsnews.com was chosen as one of 19 finalists in the online newspaper category for its work during the 2009-10 academic year.
Inklings' print edition is also nominated for a Crown in the newspaper category.
Inklingsnews.com won a Silver Crown Award last year, and Inklings' print edition has received gold medal awards from the CSPA.
Based on judges' marks, Inklings' print and online editions will each receive either a Gold or Silver Crown at an awards ceremony to be held March 18 at Columbia University in New York City.
