STAPLES Wreckers (4-2) at FAIRFIELD WARDE Mustangs (3-3)

When/Where: Staples Stadium, Friday, 7 p.m.

Player to watch, Wreckers: RB Harris Levi (Sr, 10 rushing TDs). WR Max Lonergan (Sr, 15 Rec, 269 yards, 3 TDs). QB Daniel Thompson (Sr, 912 yards passing, 7 TDs). WR Jake Thaw (So, 12 Rec, 186 yards, 1 TD)

Player to watch, Mustangs: QB Matt Cerminaro (Sr, 21-of-47, 298 yards, 3 TDs). WR Qasim Danazumi (Sr, 423 all-purpose yards, 1 TDs). LB Matt Coda (Sr, 52 total tackles, 3 sacks). LB Jake Hios (Sr, 35 total tackles, 7 sacks)

Storylines: Senior quarterback Danny Thompson has been able to led the offense both with his arm and legs and will look to do so this week against a stout Fairfield Warde defense. With a big test looming in the wings in one loss St. Joseph’s next week, the key for Staples will be to play focused and execute without overlooking the Mustangs

Warde has been solid through the 2017 campaign, but the most impressive showing for the Mustangs may have come last week on the road against Darien. The Blue Wave — fresh off a 32-6 win over Staples — was held to a season-low 17 points against Warde. Senior Matt Coda leads the tough front that will look to slow down the rushing attack from the Wreckers.

Bottom Line: Staples played well last week in Norwalk, but Warde cause some issues for the Wreckers if the offense struggles.
