The Stamford-Westhill-Staples girls hockey team finished its regular season on Thursday night with a 3-0 win over Trumbull-St. Joseph co-op.

SWS finishes the season at 12-8 and will play top-seed Darien in the FCIAC semifinals. The co-op — which gets nearly two weeks off before taking on the Blue Wave — reached the postseason for a second straight year.

The team still has a chance at reaching the state tournament, but a number of results have to go its way down the stretch. Last season, SWS qualified for states and fell to Hamden in the quarterfinals.

SWS goals were scored by Anizia Babczenko, Carolyn Gray — her first goal — and Steph Walsh. Babczenko and Walsh each picked up two assists and Grey had one. SWS goalie Claire Parry made 19 saves in notching her fifth shutout of the season.
