Staples High School's varsity cheerleading squad will host its 16th annual Varsity Vogue Fashion Show and Auction tonight ( Friday, March 15) at Mitchells of Westport.

The squad's single largest fundraiser gets under way at 7 p.m. in the 670 Post Road East store and features a fashion show, silent and live auctions, food and beverages.

Senior cheerleaders and senior football and basketball players will model attire supplied by Mitchells, show organizers said in a news release.

The highlight of the auctions will be bidding on a Forevermark diamond necklace that has a retail price of $7,500.

Tickets, available at the door, are $20 for adults and $5 for students.

In addition to the cheerleading program, proceeds benefit Staples athletic facilities, PAL cheerleading and, on behalf of the host Mitchell family, St. Vincent's Cancer Center.

The Forevermark diamond pendant features a three-quarter carat center diamond surrounded by a halo of pave set diamonds in 18-karat white gold.

Actress Hayden Panettierre wore a similar pendant at the 2013 Golden Globe Awards, show organizers said.

Other items to be auctioned include a day of race-car driving at Monticello Speedway; a day with radio station WFAN personalities Boomer Esiason and Craig Carton; tickets to a Broadway show and to sporting events, including New York Yankees, New York Giants and New York Jets games.

Also to be auctioned will be certificates for local restaurants, spas and salons.
