Staples improved to 7-3 on the season with a straight set victory over Norwalk on Oct. 3. Scores were: 25-10, 26-24, 26-24. Bella Jagenberg had 20 kills and two blocks, Jane Van Arsedale had 10 kills, three assists, five digs and an ace, Libby Murray had one ace, two digs and 34 assists. Bella Siskind had seven kills. The Wreckers are 6-2 in the FCIAC West Division. On Oct. 5, Staples defeated McMahon in five sets. Scores were not reported. Bella Jagenberg had 27 kills, two aces, two assists and one dig. Mallory Legg had four aces and one assist. Libby Murray had 44 assists and one ace. The Wreckers are 8-3. On Oct. 9, Staples (8-4) fell to Joel Barlow in straight sets. Scores were: 25-14, 25-19, 25-23. Bella Jagenberg had 13 kills and four aces. Libby Murray had 22 assists.


Staples defeated Westhill 1-0 on Oct. 4, thanks to a goal from Nick DiMasi. The assist went to Vaughn Sealey. The Wreckers moved to 6-2-2 in FCIAC play. On Oct. 8, Staples tied Stamford 1-1, via a goal from Nick DiMasi with 20 minutes left in regulation. Austin Sholes’ received an assist. The Wreckers are now 6-2-3.


Staples rolled past St. Joseph 10-0 on Oct. 4. Kyle Kirby, Isabella Deveney and Hannah Paprotna each scored two goals for the Wreckers with Madelaine Ambrose, Roxy Augeri, Maya Reiner and Julia DiConza also scoring. The Wreckers are 8-0 in FCIAC play, first place in the West Division. On Oct. 6, Staples posted a 5-0 victory over Branford in a non-conference game. Goals were scored by Kyle Kirby (2), Julia DiConza, Maya Reiner and Ella Bloomingdale. On Oct. 8, Staples celebrated “senior Night” with a 7-0 victory over Westhill. All the Wreckers seniors - Kyle Kirby, Julia DiConza (2), Hannah Paprotna, Ellen Fair and Alexis Tuccinardi - scored goals. Staples is 10-0.


Staples defeated Westhill 4-1 on Oct. 4. Ashley Wright had a goal and an assist for the Wreckers. Marlo Von der Ahe, Ava Simunovic and Catherine Sprouls also scored goals. Alexandra Hamer had two assists and Reese Sutter also had an assist. On Oct. 9, the Wreckers and Ridgefield fought to a 0-0 tie at Tiger Hollow in a battle of FCIAC leaders. Zoe Barnett made seven saves in goal for Staples (9-0-3), who outshot the Tigers (10-0-1) 13-11.
