St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Weston will hold a carnival for the first time as part of its annual celebration of its patron saint 1 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 1, on the church grounds, 35 Norfield Road. The rain date is Sunday, Oct. 2.

The carnival will include inflatable rides, a rock climbing wall, a bungee jump, laser tag, games, food and drink, entertainment, face painting, crafts and other festivities.

In addition, the Rev. Michael Dunn, the church's pastor, will give a special blessing to any pet brought to the statue of St. Francis at the top of the church's parking lot at noon.

Entrance to the carnival will be free. Bracelets for admission to all rides can be bought prior to the carnival for $15 per individual at the church after masses on Sept. 24 and 25 or on the day of the event for $20. For information on buying bracelets, call Peggy Shaeffer at 203-226-9387.
