The Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave., has announced the following activities and programs:

Saturday, Feb, 7: A Saturday Social from noon to 3 p.m. for seniors and young guests will feature lunch and a screening of the animated Disney musical "Frozen." The center said a kid-friendly menu includes chicken strips, potato puffs, carrot sticks and cake. A chef salad will be offered as an alternate meal. "Frozen" is based on a Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale and involves an intrepid princess's journey to find her sister, who inadvertently cast a spell plunging the kingdom into an eternal winter. Cost is $8 per person and registration is required.

Wednesday, Feb. 11: A free drumming circle program will be offered from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. The program involves the use of drums and other percussion instruments and is designed to lift spirits and reduce stress, center officials said. Randy Brody, a professional music educator, will facilitate the program.

Wednesday, Feb. 11: Norwalk Hospital nurses will offer free blood pressure and stroke-prevention screenings between 1 and 4 p.m. Three nurses will check blood pressures and provide information for preventing strokes. Appointments are not required.

Thursday, Feb. 12: Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County will offer free memory screenings at the center between 9 a.m. and noon. The screening is a simple word test designed to assess basic memory and other cognitive functions, center officials said. No diagnoses will be made, but the results might indicate one should see his or her primary-care physician for further assessment, Visiting Nurse officials said.

Thursday, Feb. 12: The first in a series of free programs on self-managing diabetes will be offered from 3 to 5:30 p.m. Presented by the Westport Weston Health District, the seven-part program will continue each Thursday through March 26 at the same time. Registration is required.

Saturday, Feb. 14: A Valentines Day social featuring a variety of desserts and an a capella performance is planned from 1 to 2:30 p.m. The dessert buffet will include coffee or tea. Proof of the Pudding, an all-female a capella group at Yale University, will perform. The cost is $6, and registration is required.
