Senior center lists band show, lectures
The Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave., has announced the following programs:
Sunday, Nov. 16: A free performance by the musical group the Fairfield Counts is planned at 2 p.m. The group will perform big-band, soft rock, swing, jazz and polka numbers, center officials said. Doors open at 1 p.m., and light refreshments will be served.
Thursday, Nov. 20: Probate Judge Lisa Wexler will discuss a variety of matters heard in Probate Court during a free program from 10 to 11 a.m. The center said her topics would include legal requirements to appoint conservators, plus the court's function, process and jurisdiction.
Friday, Nov. 21: History buff Art Gottlieb will present the free lecture "WWI: The First Air War" from 10:30 a.m. to noon. World War I marked the first time aircraft were used on a large scale in battle, the senior center said, and they were used to support ground troops, for reconnaissance and occasional bombing.
