The Westport Center for Senior Activities has announced the following activities for the week of April 1:

Wednesday, April 3, 10 - 11 a.m.: A discussion of "super bugs," drug-resistant microbes that can cause deadly infections, is planned. Elaine Abrams, a registered nurse with Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County, will discuss what seniors can do to protect themselves.

Thursday, April 4, 9:30 - 11 a.m.: An introduction to the art of hand-stamping will be offered. Instructor Joyce Bottone will supply all materials needed to hand-stamp five all-occasion greeting cards. The cost is $5.

Thursday, April 4, 3:30 -- 5:30 p.m.: Alan Weaver will be teach the demonstration class "What gadgets or Technology to Purchase in 2013." The class will cover laptops, PCs, iPads and tablets, e-book readers and more. The cost for the class is $20.

Thursday, April 4, 5 p.m.: Supper and a movie begins with sandwich wraps, chips and beverages, followed at 5:30 p.m. by the movie "Trailing the Curve." The film will be shown in the media room. Protagonist Gus Lobel (Clint Eastwood) has been one of the best scouts in baseball for decades, but, despite his efforts to hide it, age is starting to catch up with him. The cost for the event is $6.

Friday, April 5, 10 a.m. - noon: Alan Weaver will teach the class "Email like a Pro." It will cover the basics of sending a message, attachments and other details. The cost for the class is $25.
