Brother charged as accomplice in Merritt Country Store store break-in
A second man has been charged in connection with a break-in and theft at the Merritt Country Store last November.
David Dagley, 43, of Bridgeport was charged Tuesday on a warrant with third-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary, fifth-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit fifth-degree larceny in connection with the incident at the Main Street store.
Police said he was an accomplice to his brother, Jacob Dagley, 46, also of Bridgeport, who was charged a week earlier. The incident unfolded about 1 a.m. Nov. 4 when a rock was thrown through the store’s window, according to police, and the men entered the premises and stole $545.61 worth of cigarettes. He later was involved in a high-speed chase with police in Milford and arrested in that city.
Bond was set at $50,000 and he was scheduled to appear Jan. 28 at state Superior Court in Norwalk
