The Westport PTA Council, Connecticut Association for the Gifted and Westport Public Schools is accepting registrations for the annual Westport "Minds in Motion" event on Saturday, March 23.

It will take place from 12:30 to 4 p.m. at Bedford Middle School, 88 North Ave. Registration deadline is Friday, March 8.

The program, designed to enrich and encourage curious students in kindergarten through eighth grade, features more than 30 fast-paced, hands-on workshops geared to high-ability, motivated learners, according to a news release.

The event, sponsored by the Summer Institute for the Gifted, will also include a free program for parents, educators and other adults.

In addition, Lauri Kirsch, the National Association for Gifted Children's treasurer, will give a keynote address on "Raising Happy and Successful Gifted Children" and an adult workshop titled "Help! My Gifted Kid Came Without an Owner's Manual."

Admission to the children's workshops program is $30 per child for association members, $40 per child for non-members. Financial aid is available upon request, the release states.

Kirsch's talks or the other adult workshops will be offered for free but pre-registration is requested.

Certificates of attendance are available for teachers.
