The Recorder Society of Connecticut will hold a workshop 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Unitarian Church, 10 Lyons Plains Road. Doors open 9:30 a.m.

The meeting, designed for low-intermediate and high-intermediate players, will include early music instrumentalists Larry Zukof, ensemble leader and executive director of the Neighborhood Music

School in New Haven, and Susan Thompson, curator of the Yale Collection of Musical Instruments in New Haven.

The emphasis will be on music from 1400 to 1700, encompassing the development of early polyphony to the complexity of J. S. Bach's contrapuntal compositions, according to a release from the society.

Participants should bring their own recorders and music stand. Music is provided. Newcomers are welcome.
