Program on Peters' stone homes in Westport set June 28
The authors of a book about the late Westport architect and home builder Frazier Forman Peters and his stone homes that remain here will speak during a program Saturday, June 28, at the Westport Historical Society.
Laura Blau and Bob Weingarten, authors of "Frazier Forman Peters: Westport's Legacy in Stone," will be at historical society headquarters, 25 Avery Place, from 2 to 4 p.m., to discuss their book and sign copies.
Peters designed and built 41 houses in Westport during the 1920s and '30s, the historical society said. He also wrote several books about the virtues of stone homes and of using local materials, according to the authors' website.
Blau is Peters' granddaughter and a Philadelphia-based architect who specializes in designing sustainable buildings. Weingarten is the historical society's house historian.
Blau also will speak about green initiatives for historic properties, particularly energy efficiency in stone or masonry buildings, the historical society said in a news release.
Reservations are required, and a $10 donation will be requested, according to the release.
For reservations, call the Westport Historical Society at 203-222-1424.
