A "Pop Up" exhibition featuring 80 works by an eclectic group of artists to recently burst on the Westport arts scene ... and was gone the next day.

The latest edition of the Westport Arts Center's one-night-only Pop Up showcases featured work by 15 artists and 2 student artists, and drew a crowd of more than 300 people.

Attendees got a chance to meet the artists, as well as purchase their work.

Participating artists from the Westport Artists Collective included: Amy Bilden, Paulo Santos, Jim Felice, Michael Johnson, Viviana Gomez, Andrea Letters, Vincent Calenzo, Sooo-z Mastropietro, Nell Bernegger, Linn Casseta, Elizabeth White, Pat Singer, Vonne Whittleton, Camille Eskell, Kevin Poremba and two student artists, Ricardo Rivera and Patrick Brittin. This year's group of artists was selected by the 15 artists who exhibited at the Pop Up show last June. In turn, the artists in this most recent Pop Up will each select an artist to exhibit in the next Pop Up show this fall.

Helen Klisser During, the Westport Arts Center's artistic director, and five local artists founded the Westport Artists Collective in 2014. The group, according to a press release, is composed of more than 70 members who have joined forces "to discuss, create, and develop dynamic art experiences."

Founding collective members, known as "the Toasters," include Nina Bentley, Tammy Winser, Jahmane West, Duvian Montoya and Miggs Burroughs.
