In conjunction with the observance of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month during October, Westport police are highlighting services available to help deal with the issue.

As part of that effort, police officers joined with the Westport Domestic Violence Task Force and the Y’s Men to promote awareness of the service. They recently greeted morning commuters to distribute literature from the Domestic Violence Crisis Center of Norwalk, which provides domestic violence services to the Westport area as well.

Commuters were asked to read the information and pass it along to anyone they might know who needs help.

Anyone who would like more information or is dealing with an abusive domestic situation, can contact the DVCC via its 24-hour, toll-free hotline at 1-888-774-2900.
