WESTPORT — Police are investigating a reported attempted robbery that occurred Sunday evening near a Westport Walgreens, according to a news release from police.

A person who had been shopping at the Post Road East store “was about to enter her vehicle” when another vehicle went into a space beside hers, according to the news release. That vehicle, a Toyota Rav 4, was reportedly stolen Sunday, according to the release.

A couple of males got out of the vehicle and told the person they would “harm her if she did not turn over her keys and other personal property,” the release read.

“When the victim did not comply, the men began to rifle through her pockets,” the release read. “Unable to locate her keys or any other items of value the suspects fled the scene and were last seen heading towards I-95.”

Before they left, another male joined them in the vehicle, according to the release. The three males donned face masks and black clothes, according to the release.
