A Fairfield man is facing drug charges after hypodermic needles and heroin were found in his possession last Thursday morning, according to police.

Toby Waring, 34, of Jeniford Road in Fairfield, was charged with possession of narcotics and possession of paraphernalia.

Officers responding to a "suspicious vehicle call" found Waring next to his vehicle, which had broken down, according to a police report.

"A search of Waring's vehicle produced a large amount of used hypodermic needles, as well as glass pipes used for smoking crack cocaine," the report said.

"A quantity of heroin was also located in Waring's wallet," the report said.

Waring was released after posting a $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear Nov. 18 in Norwalk Superior Court.
