WESTPORT — A Westport man was charged with operating under the influence of drugs/alcohol, police said.

Around 7 p.m. March 18, officers were dispatched to a local residence to check on the welfare of an individual. Upon arrival, officers learned Hooman Bolandian, 48, was reportedly intoxicated when he drove away from the house.

Police said Bolandian drove himself back to the residence while officers were still on scene. Officers who spoke with Bolandian detected an odor of alcoholic beverage on Bolandian’s breath and asked him to perform standardized field sobriety tests, which he failed, police said.

Bolandian was released after posting a $500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Court March 28.
