WESTPORT — A Trumbull man allegedly sped from a Westport parking lot to Interstate 95, darted between cars and did a wheelie on his motorcycle, recklessly speeding away from an officer trying to stop him.
Police said an officer saw two motorcycles speed out of the 606 Post Road East parking lot at about 9:30 p.m. Feb. 24 and then accelerate along the Sherwood Island Connector, darting between lanes. When the officer attempted to stop the motorcyclists, one cut through traffic, accelerated, ran a stop sign and did a wheelie as he drove onto I-95, police said.
The other motorcyclist stopped, received a ticket and gave police basic information that — along with Trumbull Police assistance — led them to identify the motorcyclist that fled. Jordan Klein, of Horse Tavern Road in Trumbull, confessed during an interview, according to police.
Klein, 22, turned himself in to police March 23 for the warrant out for his arrest and was charged with disobeying the signal of an officer, reckless driving and failure to display inserts. He was released on a $5,000 bond and given a March 30 court date.
