Cops: Nanny smoked pot with child
Lori Hughes, 40, a Norwalk resident working as a nanny for a Westport family, was charged last Thursday with smoking marijuana with a minor in her care.
Hughes was charged with three counts of risk of injury to a minor, police said, after the minor's parents complained to police.
She allegedly provided and smoked pot with the youth.
Bond for Hugh was set at $25,000 and she was scheduled to be in Norwalk Superior Court last Friday.
Man charged with using phony bills
Paul Emery, 43, of New Haven was charged Friday with passing counterfeit $20 bills in Westport.
Emery faces two counts of first-degree forgery and two counts of sixth-degree larceny for using the fake money on two occasions in Westport last September.
His bond was set at $50,000 and he is scheduled for an Aug. 9 appearance in Norwalk Superior Court.
Michael Petropulos, 30, of Silent Grove North, was charged last Friday with shoplifting at the CVS pharmacy at 397 Post Road East.
Petropulos was seen walking from the store, carrying a basket of merchandise that he placed in his car, police said. When confronted by store management, he retrieved the basket.
The unpaid merchandise was valued at $133.95, according to police.
Issued a misdemeanor summons for sixth-degree larceny, Petropulos is scheduled for an Aug. 13 appearance in Norwalk Superior Court.
