Wilson Vega, 45, of Glastonbury, was arrested on Dec. 23 at 12:04 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive right and insurance coverage fails minimum requirements.

According to the report, Vega's vehicle was observed crossing over the double yellow centerline while traveling on Charles Street. When Vega was stopped, the officer reported an odor of alcohol coming from Vega's breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Vega's bail was set at $500 and he was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 31.

Linda Sharkey, 44, of Westport, was arrested on Dec. 23 at 2:48 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to drive right.

According to the report, a vehicle driven by Sharkey was observed crossing over the double yellow centerline on Riverside Avenue several times. When she was pulled over, the officer reported an odor of alcohol on her breath. She failed a field sobriety test and was arrested, police said.

Sharkey's bail was set at $500 and she was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 31.

Jeffrey Vannart, 43, of Westport, was arrested on Dec. 24 at 1:16 a.m. on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and failure to carry a license.

According to the report, Vannart was observed abruptly changing lanes while driving on Interstate 95 between exits 17 and 18 at a high rate of speed. Vannart was pulled over, and the officer reported a strong odor of alcohol coming from Vannart's breath. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Vananrt's bail was set at $500 and he was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 31.

Sharon Winkler, 34, of Norwalk, was arrested at 4:10 a.m. Dec. 24 on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, insurance coverage failing minimum requirements and violation of traffic commission regulations.

According to the report, Winkler's vehicle was observed traveling northbound on Franklin Street when it made an illegal left turn onto Saugatuck Avenue. Winkler was pulled over, and the officer found she had an expired insurance card. The officer reportedly detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. Winkler failed field sobriety tests and was arrested, police said.

Winkler's bail was set at $500 and she was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Dec. 31.

Melissa Teixeria, 36, of Branford, was arrested on Dec. 26 at 11:18 a.m. on a charge of second-degree failure to appear.

According to the report, Teixeira turned herself in at the Westport Police Department after being advised the there was an active warrant for her arrest stemming from a November 2008 incident involving several motor vehicle violations.

Teixeria's bail was set at $15,000 and she was scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 5.

Maxx Bartko, 21, of Weston, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. on Dec. 28 on charges of possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

According to the report, Bartko was traveling northbound on Riverside Avenue in a vehicle that was not displaying a front license plate. Police said the officer ran a check of the registration and saw that it had expired. Bartko was pulled over, and the officer reportedly detected an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Bartko admitted to having a small amount of marijuana and some pipes inside the vehicle, police said.

Bartko was released on a promise to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 7.

Maria Davis, 46, of Westport, was arrested on Dec. 31 at 1:02 a.m. on charges of operating under the influence of alcohol, failure to drive right and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.

According to the report, Davis was observed swerving over the double yellow centerline while traveling northbound on Riverside Avenue. Davis was pulled over, and the officer reportedly detected an odor of alcohol on her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken into custody, police said.

Davis' bail was set at $500 and she is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 7.

Christopher DeVito, 26, of New Britain, was arrested on Jan. 2 at 5:30 p.m. on charges of third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny.

According to the report, police were called to a Westport residence on Dec. 29 to investigate a burglary. Police said the victim, a relative of DeVito, reported that approximately $9,000 worth of items were stolen, and that DeVito was responsible. An investigation revealed DeVito was staying in New Britain and, after obtaining a warrant, detectives went to arrest him.

DeVito's bail was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Jan. 12.
