Westport Country Playhouse will host a free block party on Saturday, April 12, to promote its five-play 2014 season.

The party is planned from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Playhouse on Powers Court. It will feature self-guided tours of the theater, games and activities for children, prizes, special ticket offers and a scavenger hunt, the Playhouse said in a news release.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from three food trucks -- Skinny Pines Pizza, LobsterCRAFT and Christophe's Crepes. Beaver Beer will offer free tastings of its brews, and Shake Shack will offer complimentary custard, according to the release.

The season opens April 29 with Noel Coward's "A Song At Twilight" and ends Nov. 1 with the final performance of Lynne Nottage's "Intimate Apparel."

Sandwiched between them will be productions of "Sing For Your Shakespeare" by Wayne Barker, Mark Lamos and Deborah Grace Winer; "Nora," the Ingmar Bergman adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House;" and Alan Ayckbourn's "Things We Do For Love."
