Playhouse offers `networking' shows
Westport Country Playhouse on Thursday evening, May 17, will launch a series of networking performances at which professionals under age 40 can meet, socialize and make business contacts.
The event includes a pre-show party at 6:30 p.m. with light appetizers, a beer-tasting, music and door prizes, followed by the Tony Award-winning musical. Individual tickets are $35.
Subsequent InterACT networking performances are Thursdays: June 28, "The Year of Magical Thinking"; Aug. 2, Molière's "Tartuffe"; Sept. 13, "Harbor"; and Friday, Oct. 19, "A Raisin in the Sun."

Cobb's Mill Inn
Cobb's Mill Inn in Weston is scheduled to reopen Saturday, May 19, under new management as La Roue Elayne at Cobb's Mill Inn, 12 Old Mill Road. The establishment, built in 1749, was turned into a restaurant and inn in the 1930s but closed in 2010. The restaurant's new executive chef is Michael Achille, according to a news release from the inn.
The reopening will feature music by Pimpinella, a local funk-disco band, starting at 9 p.m.
to host Farsi poet
She will speak on "Assassins of the Turquoise Palace," a narrative of heroism and justice following the 1992 assassinations of Iranian-Kurdish opposition leaders Sadegh Sharafkandi, Fattah Abdoli, Homayoun Ardalan and their translator Nouri Dehkordi in Mykonos, a Greek restaurant in Berlin.
She has authored two collections of poetry in Persian, and is listed among the leading new voices in Persian poetry in the Oxford Encyclopedia of the Modern Islamic World, the release states.

Katz, formerly with Prudential Connecticut Realty's Westport office, will cover the Westport market while working from home, the firm said. Westport firm's lawyers receive top ratings
The Westport law firm of Nusbaum & Parrino P.C. recently announced that principals Edward Nusbaum and Thomas P. Parrino were named to a Top Rated Lawyers list within the greater Boston area by LexisNexis Martindale-Hubbell and ALM Media in the area of family law.
Attorneys Nusbaum and Parrino were included on the basis of their "AV Preeminent" peer-review ratings by Martindale-Hubbell, identifying lawyers with the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards, according to a news release from the firm.
The list was published in April in the Boston Globe, the American Lawyer, Corporate Counsel and the National Law Journal and online at boston.com and law.com.
Westport Realtor joins Coldwell Banker
Georgia Kornutik, of Westport, has joined the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Westport-Riverside office as a sales associate. Kornutik will provide residential real estate services in Westport, Weston, Fairfield and surrounding communities in Fairfield County, according to a news release. She has 13 years of local residential real estate experience, and has completed several real estate certifications, including Accredited Buyer Representative, New Homes Specialist and Relocation Specialist.
