‘Play with Your Food’ lunchtime theater sets January shows
The new year’s slate of “Play with Your Food” performances in Westport and Fairfield are set over the next two weeks.
The monthly productions, planned through April, feature staged readings of one-act plays read by professional actors, preceded by lunch and followed by discussion with the actors. They are staged by JIB Productions.
The January presentations inlcude an excerpt from “Act One,” by Moss Hart; “A Second Rapture,” by James E. Marlow; “Mr. Pribble Gets Rid of His Wife,” by James Thurber, and “Our Agenda,” by Michael McKeever.
Other programs in the 2016 lineup include plays by Pulitzer Prize winners like David Auburn, Wendy Wasserstein and Lanford Wilson, topical drama by Neil Labute and Lynn Nottage, and works by newer writers, such as Kitt Lavoie and Matthew Lopez.
Lunch will be catered in January by Garelick and Herbs for the Westport performances and by The Pantry in Fairfield. The lunch buffet starts at noon, followed by the play readings at 12:30 p.m.
