Bernhard is known for her satirical one-woman shows, music, movie and television roles, including Nancy Bartlett, the first openly gay character on a network sitcom, "Roseanne." She often mixes art and activism, and is a longtime supporter of women's and gay rights. Winstead, co-creator of "The Daily Show," is known for her progressive ideas and her commitment to creating a public conversation around women's health.
The program, at 7 p.m., will include a question-and-answer session with audience members. This is the comedians' first show together and it is for one night only.
"We are delighted to bring Sandra Bernhard and Lizz Winstead together for Planned Parenthood and `Funny, Feminist, Fearless,' " said Judy Tabar president and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Southern New England. "We are looking forward to a wonderful evening of entertainment, laughter and purpose. This will be an unforgettable night."
All proceeds from "Funny, Feminist, Fearless," go directly to care for Planned Parenthood patients who receive high-quality health care, regardless of their ability to pay. This special event at the Playhouse, 25 Powers Court, is open to the public.
