Piano-oboe duo to perform April 7

Connecticut Alliance for Music will present pianist Gayle Martin Henry and oboist Gerard Reuter in a "house concert" on Sunday, April 7. The pair will perform at 3 p.m. at the home of Joy and Howland Blackiston in Weston. The concert is open to the public, but advance reservations are required.

The alliance holds events in private homes so attendees can experience live music in an intimate setting. Tickets are $25, and a reception will follow the concert.

Henry has toured the Americas, Europe and mainland China with orchestras and in solo recitals and was the sole American laureate of the sixth International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow. Reuter has won the Pro Musicis International Award, and has appeared as soloist with orchestras throughout the United States, including the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, of which he was a founding member.
