Pedestrian hit by SUV downtown released from hospital
A Westport woman struck by a vehicle in downtown Westport on Tuesday morning was released from Norwalk Hospital after treatment later in the day, hospital officials said.
Lisa Kim, 32, was hit by an SUV about 9:30 a.m. as she tried to cross Post Road East at the intersection with Parker Harding Plaza.
The SUV was turning left out of the plaza, heading east onto the Post Road at the time of the accident, police said.
Kim was taken to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
She was in the crosswalk at the time of the accident, according to preliminary indications, police said. The accident is being investigated by the Police Department's Patrol Division
Last year, two pedestrians died from injuries they suffered when hit by cars while crossing Post Road East in Westport.
Sharon Broecking of Westport, 62, died last Dec. 21 when struck by a car while trying to cross the road near Westfair Drive, and Ira Leonard Eisner, a 93-year-old Stamford man, died Dec. 26 from injuries he suffered as he crossed the road Dec. 11.
