The annual Children’s Halloween Parade through downtown will take place Wednesday.
The event, which begins at 3:30 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Post Road East, is co-sponsored by the town’s Parks and Recreation Department, the Downtown Merchants Association and Westport P.A.L. The event, open to all children, is particularly for those younger than 8 years old, according to organizers.
The ranks of young princesses and super heroes, along with a few more traditional ghosts and goblins, will proceed up Main Street, along Avery Place and then to Town Hall.
Entertainment, refreshments and a small gift will be provided to the marchers on Veterans Green at approximately 4 p.m.
There will be no parking on Main Street between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. while the event is taking place.
In case of inclement weather, festivities will be moved into Town Hall, 110 Myrtle Ave., at 3:30 p.m.
