Peter Pan was the boy who steadfastly maintained, "I don't want to go to school."

So school -- embodied by Superintendent of Schools Elliott Landon -- went to Peter Pan on Monday.

Landon visited the rehearsal set of Coleytown Middle School's production of the musical "Peter Pan" and got a chance to "fly" across the stage on aerial rigging set up for the show.

The schools' chief tested his wings with equipment provided by ZFX (which stands for Zealous Flying Effects), a Kentucky company that provides aerial gear for theatrical groups worldwide.

Landon took a test flight in business attire, apparently having left his green Peter Pan tights back at school department headquarters.

The middle school production has performances of "Peter Pan" scheduled at 7 p.m. Friday, April 5; at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 6, and at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7.
