A Nutcracker holiday tea party is planned Nov. 29 by the Westport Woman's Club to benefit the performing arts program at Waltersville School in Bridgeport.

The event, featuring costumed dancers, readings and high tea, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. in the ballroom of the Westport Woman's Club, 44 Imperial Ave.

Costumed ballet dancers from the Westport Academy of Dance will meet guests, and a Nutcracker-filled Ballet Boutique will be on premises.

Featured reader of the Nutcracker story will be Mary Ellen Marpe, wife of First Selectman Jim Marpe.

Sweet treats, tea sandwiches, hot cocoa and tea will be offered.

Tickets cost $40, and may be purchased online by going to the Westport Woman's Club website at www.westportwomansclub.org, or on the day of the event by check or cash.

Sponsor opportunities -- both for cash and in-kind donations -- are still available, according to the club.
