The Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School is holding a "Halloween Green Exchange" costume swap for its students' families through Friday, Oct. 28, in the lobby of the school, 10 Lyons Plains Road. The swap is taking place during the school's operating hours 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Families may donate Halloween costumes they have outgrown and pick up costumes donated by other families as part of the school's effort to reduce its carbon footprint and promote a sense of community.

"Recycling with others in our community aligns with the school's commitment to save, salvage, re-purpose and recycle whenever we can," Pat Rackliffe, the school's director, said.

The school will donate any extra costumes to charity.

Founded in 1955, the Westport Weston Cooperative Nursery School is a private, nonprofit, nondenominational early childhood education program which embraces the child-centered approach.
