WESTPORT — A Norwalk man allegedly drove into mailboxes and a post on Big Pines Road in Westport before fleeing the scene on foot.
Someone called police after witnessing the one-car crash around 6 p.m. on June 23 and reported a man had driven his car into the mailboxes and large post, causing the car’s airbag to go off. When he couldn’t pull his car out from the crash, the witness told police, the man ran from the car.
Police found Daniel Molina walking not far from the scene. He had the keys to the crashed car and his license was in its glove box, according to police.
Officers arrested the 22-year-old resident of Wolfpit Avenue in Norwalk and charged him with evading responsibility and failure to drive in the proper lane. Molina was released on a $500 bond ahead of a July 5 court date.
