WESTPORT — The Westport Farmers Market and Fleishers Craft Butchery cosponsor the film, “Unbroken Ground: Revolutions Start from the Bottom,” at the Fairfield Theater Company on Nov. 6.
The film explores the critical role food plays in climate change, and tells the story of four groups that are pioneers in the fields of regenerative agriculture, regenerative grazing, diversified crop development and restorative fishing.
Refreshments will be provided by Patagonia Provisions, Fleishers Craft Butchery and Fairfield Cheese Co., with beer samples provided by Black Hog Brewing. A discussion will follow. Proceeds benefit the farmers market. Tickets, $5, are available at fairfieldtheatre.org/shows/stageone/unbroken-ground
WESTPORT — The Department of Public Works has announced leaf collection dates, which will take place Monday through Dec. 3. Only leaves placed on the curbside in biodegradable paper bags will be collected. Residents living on private roadways must place their bagged leaves at an intersecting town roadway.
A DPW crew will pick up leaves several times during the collection period. A final pass will begin Dec. 4 and take about a week.
