Foundation offers scholarships

WESTPORT — Fairfield County’s Community Foundation provides college scholarships to area students. This year, approximately $1 million will be awarded to more than 400 high school seniors. Scholarships range from $500 to $8,000, and some are renewable. There are scholarships for students applying to two- and four-year educational institutions and for technical certificate programs. A list of available scholarships for students living in Bridgeport, Easton, Fairfield, Monroe, Milford, Shelton, Stratford, Trumbull and Westport and the online application are on the foundation’s website, The deadline is March 21.

WESTPORT — The Westport Center for Senior Activities has announced registration for April, May and June classes. Registration for Westport residents begins March 5 at 7:30 a.m. Westport residents may register for themselves and one household member. Registration for non-Westport residents begins on March 12 at 7:30 a.m. A $10 late fee will be added for anyone registering after March 31 for any class that runs the entire quarter.

The center is in a tranquil 22.4- acre park known as the Baron’s Park South. The facility offers classes in fitness, dance, creative arts, culinary arts, foreign language instruction, bridge and card game classes, educational lectures, social events and much more.

Pop Up Art Show

WESTPORT — Pop into a special Spring Pop Up show by the Westport Artists Collective on March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Westport Arts Center. The exhibition is free, and will be on view March 7 to 10. The display can also be previewed during the day on March 7. For this special Pop Up show, all 150 members of the collective were invited to showcase a work of art, creating a display of artistic talent, with works ranging from mixed media to sculpture to paintings. The Westport Arts Center Collective has grown to include 150 members who have joined forces to share resources, provide support and encouragement to each other, and to develop dynamic art experiences.
