The Westport Young Woman's League has elected Nathalie Fonteyne as its president for 2013-14.

A Westport resident and mother of three, she joined the Westport Young Woman's League in 2005. Originally from Belgium, she studied psychology at the University of Brussels and earned a master's degree in educational psychology at the University of Michigan. She worked as a research assistant at Hahnemann University and Chicago Medical School and also as a cultural consultant helping people relocating to Europe with cultural and language skills. She has held a variety of League positions including secretary and vice president as well as selection chair for CraftWestport, the League's annual fall handcrafted arts show.

"I love the diversity this group offers," said Fonteyne, who took office in June at the group's annual meeting. "We have women of all ages, from their 20s to their 50s, and from all walks of life -- professional women, including doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, as well as stay-at-home moms and those who work part time. Westport is a diverse and talented community and our membership reflects that."

The WYWL's next major fundraiser, CraftWestport, will place Saturday, Nov. 9 and Sunday, Nov. 10, at Staples High School.

The group is currently accepting applications for new members. For more information, visit
