New Yorker wins eighth Road Runners event
Last Saturday Art Gunther, of Nyack, New York won his first Road Runners race of the season, leading 142 runners across a 8.4 mile course with a winning time of 48:05. Darien’s Liz Herbert was the first woman to cross the line, clocking in at 56:06.
Ridgefield’s James Osborn and Stamford’s Leo Biala crossed the line in second and third respectively with times of 51:28 and 53:02. Second and third places in the women’s division were awarded Amanda Morgan, 15th in 58:17 and Deidre O’Farrelly, of Westport, 39th in 1:04:41. Other Westport-Weston residents who finished in the top 10 were Tom Harding, fifth in 54:02, Paul Greenberg, sixth in 54:55 and David Allen, ninth in 55:51.
The next scheduled Road Runners race will be held on Saturday, August 29nd at 8 a.m. with a 8.4 mile race starting at Compo Beach.
