A motorcyclist was injured in a Saturday afternoon crash on Beachside Avenue.

The man -- whose name was not disclosed, but is a Stafford Springs resident -- was riding with a group of other bikers when he lost control of his motorcycle about 2:30 p.m., crashed into a mailbox and was thrown to the ground in front of 128 Beachside Ave., according to the Fire Department report on the incident.

The man was lying at the side of the road when Westport police and firefighters arrived at the scene.

The man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries by Westport EMS. His condition was not immediately available.

The motorcycle was towed from the scene, and the last of the emergency crews left the scene about one-half hour later.
