Star Wars Reads Day, an initiative that celebrates reading and “Star Wars” annually, will be observed Saturday at the Westport Library.

Activities planned in conjunction with the national event will take place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the library. Among the free activities are:

10-11:30 a.m. Sculpt a Star Wars character with the Children's Library sculptor-in-residence Chris Crowe. (seminar room)

11 a.m.-3 p.m.: Clone Wars Animated Film Festival. (Higgins Room)

1-3 p.m.: Connecticut artist and illustrator Nick Palazzo will teach how to sketch Star Wars characters. (Great Hall)

2 p.m.: Shake Shack offers free "Dark Side" custard. (Great Hall)

The event will include a celebration of the one-year anniversary of the library’s robots, Nancy and Vincent, and there will be coloring sheets available all day in the Children’s Library.
