WESTPORT — A Massachusetts woman, arrested in town last month, is facing additional charges for allegedly stalking the man she had harassed.

A man told police he woke up to the 48-year-old banging on his door around 2 a.m. on Feb. 1, then saw her walking away to her car, police said. The man reported he began getting calls from a number he did not recognize about 45 minutes later. Detectives found the phone number belongs to a relative of the woman, Susan Berry, and also that she had emailed the man through a dating website, according to police.

After the man reported the incidents the next day, police issued a warrant, and Berry turned herself in to police Feb. 6. The resident of Nanepashement Street in Marblehead, Mass. was charged with first-degree stalking, disorderly conduct and violation of a protective order.

A court had issued the protective order after she was arrested in Westport Jan. 4 and charged with second-degree harassment. Police said she had continued to send text messages for months to a man officers had warned her not to contact.
