Man faces charges from August car crash
Kyle Dexheimer, 23, of Morningside Drive South, surrendered Sunday night at Police Department headquarters on two warrants issued in connection with an August auto accident.
During the incident, Dexheimer reported a vehicle stolen, according to police. A subsequent investigation showed, however, that he had been driving the vehicle when it rolled over on Long Lots Road and struck a stone wall and road sign, police said.
Dexheimer was charged with second-degree false report of an incident, interfering with an officer, evading responsibility, failure to drive right and traveling unreasonably fast. He was released on $2,500 bond for the criminal charges and posted a $5,000 bond for the motor vehicle charges. He is scheduled to appear Oct. 22 in Norwalk Superior Court.
