Man charged with stealing designer sunglasses

A Fairfield man faces larceny charges after allegedly stealing designer sunglasses from Westport stores.
Michael Kelly, 44, whose last known address was the Operation Hope shelter in Fairfield, was charged with third-degree and fourth-degree larceny/shoplifting.
Kelly is suspected of stealing multiple pairs of designer sunglasses from two local stores last August and September, according to a police report.
Police said Kelly was taken into custody at Fairfield police headquarters around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, where he was being held on two outstanding arrest warrants issued by Westport police.
He was held in lieu of $40,000 bond. He was given a court date of Nov. 18 in Norwalk Superior Court.
