A Stamford man faces several charges filed last week for trying to obtain prescription narcotics at a Westport pharmacy using false information, police said.

David Lafrance, 33, was arrested on a warrant Sept. 3 at Norwalk Superior Court, where he was appearing on unrelated charges.

Police said that in July Lafrance attempted to obtain the prescription narcotics at the CVS pharmacy on Post Road East by using a fake state driver's license and a falsified prescription for the drugs.

Lafrance was charged with criminal impersonation, third-degree identity theft, third-degree forgery and attempting to a controlled substance with a forged prescription.

Bond was set at $5,000 and he was arraigned that same day.
