Man charged with threatening wife with rifle

NEW MILFORD -- An Upland Road man was arrested on a warrant Monday, a day after he threatened his wife with a rifle, police said.

Michael Carcaldi
, 39, was charged with second-degree threatening, second-degree reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.

Police said Carcaldi was apparently drinking when he got into an argument with his wife and threatened her with the rifle. The couple's two young children were in their bedrooms upstairs at the time, police said.

Carcaldi was held on a $75,000 bond for arraignment Tuesday in Bantam Superior Court.
