Man charged with drug possession near school grounds
Jason Sheldon, 29, of Ledyard was arrested on April 22 at 10:33 p.m. on charges of possession of narcotics, possession of a hallucinogenic substance, possession of marijuana, illegal possession near a school and interfering with an officer.
According to the report, Sheldon was seen driving on Post Road West and went straight in a "left turn only" lane. He was stopped in the vicinity of King's Highway School and the officer detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle yielded several containers of marijuana, two plastic baggies of suspected hallucinogenic mushrooms and a container containing two pills found to be ecstasy and OxyContin.
Sheldon's bail was set at $25,000 and he is scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on May 3.
