Fred Barrows, 55, of Meadowbrook Lane, was charged with driving under the influence early Friday on Post Road East.

Barrows was seen driving on Post Road East, drifting from the left lane into the right lane and weaving within the right lane, police said.

Once Barrows was stopped, an officer smelled alcohol on his breath, according to the report, and he also failed field sobriety tests.

He was charged with operating under the influence of drugs or alcohol, failure to drive in the proper lane and driving with an out-of-state license for more than 30 days. He was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to appear May 6 in Norwalk Superior Court.
