Christopher Dohme, 23, of 20 Maplewood Ave., was arrested at Norwalk Hospital for two outstanding Westport warrants about 5:30 p.m. Monday.

The first warrant was issued for a May 28 incident during which Dohme reportedly stole checks from a victim, signed the victim's name and cashed them for a total of $960. After seeing bank surveillance photos of the transaction, the victim was able to identify Dohme, whom she apparently knew, police said.

On June 23, a police officer with knowledge of the outstanding warrant reportedly spotted Dohme walking south on Main Street near Willowbrook Cemetery. As the officer turned his vehicle around, Dohme reportedly started to run into the cemetery. He allegedly continued to run up a hill in the cemetery but could not be located.

Dohme reportedly called police, stating that he would turn himself in, but apparently did not appear.

A warrant was then issued for the June 23 incident for interfering with an officer.

Dohme was booked Monday and unable to make bond. He was transported to Norwalk Superior Court on Tuesday for arraignment.
