Man accused of shoplifting cart full of groceries
A Bridgeport resident was arrested Sunday afternoon on a shoplifting charge at Super Stop & Shop.
William Davenport, 41, of Midland Street, Bridgeport, was charged with sixth-degree larceny,
"Store security told police that a heavy-set white male walked out of the store with a grocery cart filled with merchandise concealed in green grocery bags," according to a police report. No value for the items taken was given.
After being confronted by store security personnel, the man ran out of the parking lot.
